Beris horse Bits

The different Mouthpieces of beris bits explained.

Plastic-Compound
Our beris mouthpieces are made of a food safe plastic compound with a surface refinement unequalled so far in the range of plastic bits.
The surface is very smooth and they slide easily in the mouth, even if the horse doesn ́t salivate that much. The “eraser like effect” known of rubber bits will not occur with our mouthpieces! Horses accept them very well and will often be encouraged to chew and salivate more.

Eggbut Bit
120, 130 und 140 mm / soft, medium and hard. The form of the mouthpiece as well as the soft transition to the rings prevents pinching and the bit sets still in the horse‘s mouth. It ́s suitable for most of the horses.
Eggbutt Jointed
125, 135 und 145 mm / medium
The Jointed Bit will put more pressure on the jaws and on the sides of the tongue. Within appropriate use a single joint in the bit will disturb the blood flow in the tongue not substantially. Our single jointed Eggbut Snaffle is made of a medium flexible, food safe plastic compound.To soften the pressure on the jaw we designed an extra flexible zone at
the side of the mouthpiece. Due to shape and the angulation of the joint it will rest evenly on the tongue.

Comfort Bit

This anatomically correct bit rests equally on tongue and bars and offers more room and mobility for the tongue. With this bit the pulled rein will apply pressure evenly on tongue and bars. A lateral squeezing of tongue and bars will not happen. Also a pinching of the lips will be impossible by using bit guards. The Comfort Bar lies thanks to it`s shape very still in the horses‘ mouth. Mullen Mouth bits are considered to be fairly mild which enables the
rider to communicate with his horse in a more gentle and delicate way. The soft Comfort Bit is ideal for young and sensitive horses.

Tongue Port Bit

The Tongue Port Snaffle gives the horse‘s tongue enough room because
of the flattened area on the port. Many horses react to this with more relaxation and chewing. Therefore this bit is perfect for horses that
won’t tolerate pressure on the tongue and for those who tend to stick their tongue above the bit.

beris KONNEX

The KONNEX-Bit is to be understood as the deliberate summary of positive characteristics of our proven Tongue Part and our Butterfly Bit. The bit itself is slimmer, it positions itself very comfortable in the horse’s mouth. Also in the KONNEX-Bit the proved beris Tongue Port offers generous space to the sensitive tongue muscle. Additionally here the bit widens itself in area of the port. That means to spread the pressure of the rein on a greater area of the tongue, the tongue will be protected from too much pressure on a small area.
Suitable is the KONNEX-Bit for horses with little space in their mouth, e.g. thoroughbred type horses, or older horses (due to the dental changes), horses with large-scale tongues and especially the ones who do not tolerate too much pressure on the tongue.

Butterfly Bit

Our Butterfly Bit Snaffle is an absolute innovation in regard of mouthpieces. The anatomically correct form in combination with a broader surface in the tongue area offers this sensitive muscle the optimal amount of room space with a very soft influence at the same time.
Horses show their wellbeing with more chewing activity and an increased acceptance of the bit. If a stronger effect of the horse‘s mouth is necessary a leverage acting cheek may be helpful.

beris PRIME
120, 130 und 140 mm / supersoft  beris PRIME sets new standards in communication between horse and rider. Due to the anatomical shape of the extreme soft mouthpiece the pressure is equally spreaded on tongue and bars. The integrated oval bit guards with it ́s carefully shaped passages to the centerpiece prevent pinching the horse‘s lips and grant lateral support.
Cleaning Instructions for plastic compound: The mouthpieces should be rinsed with clean water after every use.

Leather Bit

Leather Bits slides easily in the mouth what means an increased well being of your horse. The anatomical shape of the mouthpiece adjusts when wet even more perfect to the anatomy of the horses‘ mouth.
Extremely well suited is our leather mouthpiece for young and highly sensitive horses, disliking all other materials. Even horses that generally dislike bits in their mouth often accept this material and can learn to trust the hand of a gentle rider again.
